Vinyl Special Privileges and This Is How They Treat Garden Street

From a reader:

Garbage bags running all over Garden Street sidewalk
Trash bags not placed in dumpster
Dumpster gates wide open

This is the business that DIB wants to subsidize?
What would our downtown look like if every business was like Vinyl?

The garbage area is not controlled by Vinyl. The DIB has assisted in a co-op of sorts managed by the merchants of the block, who pay a fee for use. Plans have been discussed about a more effective unit being installed in the Jeffetson Street garage. Vinyl has complained about the mess for years... with various trial management scenarios. DIB has failed to take action beyond discussion for years!

So where is City Code Enforcement?

That place is always nasty after their concerts. I see it every morning as I go to work. That whole corner needs to be pressure washed and trash picked up.

Pensacola Code Enforcement is reactive and not proactive. I have seen them drive past violations all the time and never stopping. Go figure

Might be time for someone to rethink the number of garbage containers required to service the business that use these containers. There is a lot food waste and kitchen scrap that goes into these garbage receptacles. Walk by this area early morning on a nice humid/hot summer morning and enjoy the aroma. There is always a stream of foul liquids seeping from this enclosure.
