Fire Union Endorses Travelin' Wu

The Pensacola fire union is endorsing Travelin' PC Wu for City Council. The Fire Department likes a Council member whose favorite lines are "We have no power!" and "My hands are tied."

Last time he ran, PC Wu told Laura McKnight that if she didn't run against him he would not seek another term as he just wanted one more term to stay involved in the League of Cities Board of Directors.

I understand now that PC has his eyes on some stupid Florida League of Cities award for 20 years of service which requires him to be in office until 2024 to qualify.

2024!!

PC Wu he doesn't care about the Citizens, just selfies with politicos and a plaque for sucking his City dry for 20 years.

You see, with PC Wu it is about traveling on our nickel to resorts not about representing his constituents.

Can anyone remember one (1) piece of legislation PC has ever proposed? One!

Can anyone remember one (1) briefing he has given Council regarding what he has "learned" at the League of Cities? One!

I have a public records request in for all of PC Wu's travel expenses for the last three years!

Get ready to realize how much we the the Citizens have subsidized the Professor's retirement travels.

Get ready to choke on the fleecing of Pensacola!

Why would the union support him? Oh, that's right. He threw the former Chief & Assistant Chief under the bus & helped to confirm a new chief who gives out overtime like it's candy.

This is the same union enjoying all that windfall of overtime payments as a thank you for supporting City Hall's witch-hunt so they could promote a person who sees nothing wrong with firemen using the fire station for their outside businesses on duty. "They could work on their outside businesses while at work 24-hours a day if they wanted to" (from a deposition) Crooks supporting crooks.

Please publish where all his discretionary council funds have gone. When one of his district neighborhoods asked for some to do a city park project he said "discretionary funds???? I don't know what you're talking about"

Not all union members are backing him.

The union president is campaigning for a promotion to battalion chief.

I am sorry, but I cannot help you. I cannot name one (1) piece of legislation nor one (1) briefing that PC Woo-woo has ever presented to the council. I can, however, remember him stomping his feet and pounding the podium to tell us that the CMP would cost $40 million "and not a penny more!" When the cost ballooned to almost $60 million Woo-woo cratered like a sink hole in Central Florida! He didn't flinch when he voted to approve the cost overruns.

Woo-woo regards his position on the City Council to be "ceremonial" rather than a leadership job. Never has one person done so much damage by doing absolutely nothing! He continues to receive tons of money from the GOB crowd who can count on him to never undermine their plans to exploit the citizens of this city.

You have to give Woo-woo some credit, however. He is very adept at getting his reelection signs placed on major thoroughfares . I don't know if he is extorting his neighbors to get the use of their yards or if they are as brain-dead as him. Hopefully the upcoming election will see a change in his district for the better. It can't get any worse!

I would NEVER again vote for anyone endorsed by the fire department after the stunt they pulled to get Allen confirmed.

First they support Chief Turn N. Run now they endorse Councilman P.C. Du Nuthin!
Just what's not needed, 4 more years of, "There's nothing we can do, we have no power, but let's vote ourselves a pay raise."

The PFD had already lost a lot of credibility when it came out about the overtime payoff but yesterday's blog post really sickened me. I'm an old retired Marine and I know that where there's No Loyalty there's No Honor.

Did the union membership take a real vote?

P.C. Who? You've got to be kidding me.
Pathetic Pensacola Posturing Politics

This endorsement speaks volumes about the PFD.

Just FYI, I'm not much offended by the non-endorsement and appreciate that the firefighters provided the symbolic courtesy of hearing me out for two hours on Saturday. They said then that they had not yet spoken with Wu who was away on a city taxpayer-funded junket in Miami (Wu and I presume Mrs. Wu too apparently driving there and back in their own car at city taxpayer expense) so I presume they must have met with him on Monday after he slobbered all over Fire Chief Allen in front of the television camera during his budget presentation. The City Council asked no meaningful questions about the Pensacola Fire Department and heard nothing much useful in return. I don't recall Chief Allen even once mentioning the secret vision plan for the department he is supposedly piecing together to include a plan for Advanced Life Support that does seems a bit problematic given that I was told on Saturday the Professional Firefighter/EMTs want to ride into action on a Fire Engine not a boxy ALS-capable EMS truck. On Saturday, I heard a lot to confirm my long-time bad assessment of firefighter pay, staffing, training, equipment and facilities. All of the problems can be fixed if made a priority which they are not now. I blame Wu most of all because he has let these problems fester during his 12 years as a ceremonial figurehead City Council member. When Nate Elder called today from the union to tell me they had voted to endorse Wu, he explained that they did so because they did not want to "anger the incumbent." That was Elder's exact wording. I get it. However, when I told my wife Yvonne she screamed out - "Those firefighters have no @(#($." I explained that in Wu's fragile condition not being endorsed as he had presumably been promised by Hayward might throw him over the edge. Wu has been emotionally erratic in recent months to include making threatening comments to Myers during meetings. At one point Wu used to tell me almost in a grandfatherly way that we were so much alike. (The chief difference is that I am a person of action and he is a person of inaction.) Now Wu scowls at me every time he passes by spitting political venom with his eyes. Just prior to the August 11 meeting, Wu actually stood up from his seat and walked all the way to the back of Council Chambers to ask me - "Couldn't wait until I term-limited out?" (In 2024, after 20 years in office.) Wu then added, "You could have saved your money!" (I assume that jab was because I am mostly self-funding my campaign whereas he is relying on a lot of money from real estate development types to include three wheeler-dealers he voted in favor of the week of August 8-11 receiving campaign contributions from them before or after the votes. The "Pay to Play" game is alive and well in the Wu campaign. I even saw Wu giving them political man-hugs and kissing their rings and saying aloud so I could hear how very much he appreciated their big checks that he had he deposited as soon as he got them, etc.) After Wu got done giving me the verbal evil eye, I said nothing and avoided eye contact. Having huffed and puffed and not blown me away, Wu said nothing more and stomped back to his seat. He then voted himself a 53% pay raise telling Myers he deserved it. He was mad because Myers had not voted with him instead voting NO, Wu saying something like, "You just assured that I will not be reelected." I do plan to call out Wu for what he has done to the fire department.

WU got the endorsement by endorsing ALLEN.
If people are dumb enough to re-elect that fossil, then they deserve higher taxes and crime for his lack of representation. Elect CJ Lewis if you have a brain.

"The union president is campaigning for a promotion to battalion chief."

This is the worst kept secret since Area 51. Just remember, he wants it just as bad or maybe even worse than Allen and doesn't care who he has to take down to get it.

Anonymous said...

Nate Edler, Catholic High grad and aspiring chief. He will do anything just like Allen to get there. Mark it down.

Anonymous said...

Edler needs to stick to cuttin grass which according to his new boss he can do while on duty. ("Absolutely, absolutely"). At any rate, Elder apparently has the political acumen of an anvil if he actually thinks endorsing Wu will somehow garner support for the fire department. Even the casual observer can see that Wu has to run everything he does on council through his real boss.....Ashton Hayward III!

CJ, there was no vote taken by the firefighters to back Wu.

Anonymous said...

@Anonymous 12:21 PM fire fighter, was there a vote to endorse Allen? Because I don't remember any firemen saying any thing like that then.

CJ Lewis said...

Anonymous - Well, that is very interesting. Nate Elder specifically told me that the firefighters met and voted to endorse Wu. I had no reason to doubt him. Although I did not say anything to him, I did have to wonder exactly when he or someone else had met with Wu given that they had not met with him as of Saturday and Wu could not have returned from Miami until late Sunday and we had budget workshops all day Monday and Tuesday morning. In truth, I did not expect the firefighters to vote to endorse me and politely suggested to Elder that a better move on their part would be to stay neutral and let the voters in District 1 decide the issue. Further, and I did not mention this on Saturday, it seems odd to endorse anyone now unless they were confused and thought our names were going to be on the August 30 ballot. One of the reasons I am not sending out mailers now is that the last thing I want is even more people thinking our names will be on the ballot next Tuesday. It would be interesting to see if there is an "un-endorsement" of Wu though I will not hold my breath. That said, thanks for the clarification.

Nate is a fool who listens to John Chapman who is also a fool. They are both legacies who are Melanites and part of a lot of the problems in the past. What do you think Edler meant and I quote when he said, "We want to make the fire department great again." He is going to sell all of us out to become a battalion chief and eventually the fire chief. He learned from the best!

Anonymous said...

If Edler endorsed Wu on his own without consent from the firefighters does Edler at least live in Wu's district or in the city for that matter? If the answer to all of those questions is No, then it seems obvious that Edler was promised something in return. Hmm...Wasn't he also the one that spoke on behalf of the firefighters to endorse the new chief? This is definitely something worth keeping an eye on. Btw, Wu is as about as worthless as I have ever seen for an elected official and Cannada-Wynn is a close second. CJ Lewis is by far the best candidate for the citizens but the GOBs are backing worthless Wu.

Anonymous said...

Have you read P.C. Wu's candidate profile on the Supervisor of Elections website? Wu lists every certificate he has received for his entire life but there is absolutely NO MENTION of one single project or accomplishment that he has brought to the District in 12 years. Enough. City Council is not supposed to be a ceremonial position. We expect work, and hard questions of staff to bring improvements in our City. I will not endure 4 more years of him wringing his hands and pretending to have no power.

Wow! I see Cobb and Streeter have bullied their yes men into posting negative comments concerning Capt. Edler. What those two morons and their minions cant comprehend is that CJ has a snowballs chance in hell of winning and honestly, by his comments here cant be trusted. PC makes a point to visit all of the stations on a solemn day and talk with each one of them and he votes with public safety. Maybe thats why the police union is ALSO endorsing PC.

Anonymous said...

^^@Anonymous 7:47 PM - I don't know Edler, Cobb or Streeter but I do recognize political posturing when I see it. How many of those firemen and police officers endorsing worthless Wu live in the city? Some probably don't even live in Escambia County. You are an idiot and must have something to gain because your rationale for endorsing a candidate has nothing to do with what they bring to council. You sound like the typical GOB that has Pensacola light years behind where it should be. You are really dumb to think endorsing Wu is going to somehow help the PFD or maybe it's just about you. His station visits are ALWAYS preceded or followed by a vote against the fire department. His record speaks for itself; he ALWAYS votes with Ashton. How did that airport situation work out? What about the mold infested station? That's just off the top of my head. If you back Wu aka Mr. "I Have No Power", you deserve exactly what you get!

Anonymous said...

LMBO!!! You trust Wu who is only cares about traveling on the taxpayers dime? Of course it's doubtful that you are a taxpayer so what do you care?

It is simple, the crooked fire fighters want PC WU.
The fire fighters that want a fair place to work want CJ Lewis.

Who you endorse, or vote for speaks volumes about your integrity.
