Congratulations Firefighters!!!!!!

Press Release

The Pensacola Fire Department is proud to announce the advancement of several firefighters today. Lieutenant Kelly Akins who has served with the department since 2012. Lieutenant Tyler Choat who has served with the department since 2007. Captain Marquette Oliver who has served with the department since 2001. Captain Jed Martin who has served with the department since 2007. Fire Marshal Annie Bloxson who has served with the department since 1993. Battalion Chief Ginny Cranor who has served with the department since 1998 and Battalion Chief Cedric King who has served the department since 1993. Congratulation’s to you all!

I am so pleased that I was wrong!

My sources tell me Sisson has changed the process for hiring and is making the decisions.  I hope the new process is well documented Sisson.  It will be part of the lawsuit.  No winging it!

Hope my post didn't effect the results! :)

The fire department has now officially gone down the toilet! So many tentacles to this madness. Those idiots at City Hall actually think they have covered themselves from another discrimination lawsuit because they promoted two blacks and two females. Anyone who can't see that these promotions were nothing more than strategy from silly hall is completely blind.

Sisson just can't get out of his own way. If he's a qualified HR professional, I'm an astronaut and I hate flying! Hey fellow taxpayers, Sisson is going to cost us millions.

I guess it's time for updated interviews on how the department is better now. I wonder what Allen's approval rating is like now that the overtime pay off is probably over and some that thought they were going to get promoted got left behind. So much for all that morale.

The interview process was a sham. Everyone that "failed" should lawyer up immediately. Trust me I know what I'm talking about.

It's amazing how all these guys passed pretty tough written exams to get promoted before. Now they fail a rigged question and answer test. One of the failures had already been a battalion chief before and was demoted. And the acting fire Marshall that just received an award either failed or was just passed over. These picks were made before anyone showed up for interviews. The city always trying to justify how they do things.

Isn't it Strange that the 2 Fireman that Sued the City were Passed Over for Promotion?

There are all kinds of coincidences coming out of city hall daily. I hate to say it but the firefighters got played by Allen and Hayward. They fooled a bunch of them into believing things would be better with Allen in charge. I would love to see a do-over for the confirmation now. At least there are few who still believes the department is better now.

Thats a lot of promotions...

This is an awesome NEW way Sisson has come up with to conduct business. Interview question samples could be
1) What's your favorite color?
2) What's my favorite color?
3) What's Dennis Rodman's favorite color?
4) Who shot JR? assuming the candidates are old enough to remember Dallas
5) What would you do if an illegal alien with a thick mustache asked for directions to the nearest Sonics but you did not know he was an illegal alien and he was driving a grey Chevy truck with tinted windows at 4:03 pm on a Sunday afternoon while its raining and the temperature is 73.6 F?
6) What's my favorite number?
7) What's your favorite number?
8) What number am I thinking of?

Congratulations you got the job!

Nothing strange or new about it. That's just how they roll! ;-)

WOW this takes the cake, didn't they just promote the assistant Chief without an interview process? There is only one reason to add an interview to the process. Can anyone guess why. I would love to see their resumes. Let's see, you tell the interviewers what you think they want to hear for about 30 minutes and that is more important then their body of work for 15-20 years of service. A true competent CHIEF would already know who is fit and ready to lead. People wake up (Fireman) this is a blind allegiance to the destruction of your reputation as well as your Honor. You guys need to stand up to injustice or it will continue for now on. How can you guys not see this. Do not be fooled nothing has changed for you guys only the faces. SAD

I just heard about the promotions at the fire department on TV and I was proud at first until I went to church and listened to what people were talking about and why these certain people were selected and how a testing process actually eliminated probably the most qualified firefighters. It's not fair to the newly appointed chiefs to be put in those positions just to stop others who I heard were more qualified. Another fine move by the city to use smoke screens to cover up the injustice of others.

People are talking about this latest city hall debacle. Sisson and Ashton actually believes that people will overlook what they've done by promoting less qualified minorities. The obvious discrimination continues in the Downside of Florida.

One of the interview questions should have been, "What would you do if some discriminates against you?"

So glad that people can see through the shenanigans. It's just sad that less qualified people will have more qualified people working for them in some cases as a result. I don't know the people involved but nobody really wins when something like this happens. I just hope that all of the wrongdoing comes to the surface and those responsible for causing all of this will get what they deserve.

There were only two questions that mattered.

1. Do you want to impress your friends and make more money than your fellow fire fighters?

2. Will you lie, cheat, and steal for Ashton Hayward?

If both questions are "yes" you get to move to the head of the class. This has been Hayward's M.O. since day one. He has cleaned house of anyone who might question him and he has promoted anyone who unashamedly kisses his ring. Those of you who voted for the "strong mayor" form of government should learn a lesson about the nature of political cronyism. None of this would have happened if a professional city administrator were running the city.

Are the firemen complaining that they have been treated unfairly now? Where were the complaints before when the Chiefs were treated unfairly? I guess it didn't take too long for all that morale to go down the tank.

If you all thought that your allegiance to the new fire chief or Hayward was gonna do you any good, shame on you for being that naive. Same as it was same as it ever will be!

Sisson is at it again? Well of course it was shady. Didn't the former chiefs get fired over this? Look for more lawsuits in the future with the current administration.

So, Ashy has stooped to a new low when I thought he couldn't be more of a loser. It appears that the promotions are a sham and certain people were promoted to give the appearance that the administration supports diversity. In truth Hayward only makes halfhearted attempts whenever his racist actions come under scrutiny. He's so dumb that he's taking credit for promotions that he should have nothing to do with. Or does he have something to do with them?

It would be interesting to know how involved the Mayor was with these promotions compared to how involved he is with promotions in other departments.

Anonymous said...

No one thinks that. You're attempting to make stuff up that dosent exist. The department is better now than it was under Schmitt and glover who did absolutely nothing to benefit the citizens or department. Get over it.

Anonymous said...

So the fire department promotions were based on if you are the mayor's or Olsons, or Sisson's friend not qualifications which this last promotional debacle obviously wasn't Baystone

Extremely disappointed in our local government and the way they operate. I'm afraid to see the damage this administration can do over the next two years.

Hahaha! You've got a chief that will leave you in a burning building and his assistant is a known racist. Of course it's better now. You are likely one of the loser firemen who stayed in trouble and probably should be fired. Enjoy your tide down the toilet.
