How to run an Investigation...Olson Style

  1. Pick your retaliation targets (It's easy...the two city employees who have EEOC complaints against you)
  2. Retain the Mayor's criminal defense firm as "Independent Investigator".  Wink Wink!
  3. Ask Special Assistant Wells how to proceed.
  4. Figure out how to get the targets out while the "investigation" is ongoing. Got it! Administrative Leave!
  5. Bring them in together, have them meet with a man they have never met and who tells them he knows nothing and treat them like criminals escorting them from the building.
  6. Oh No! One of the targets asked for a hearing under the employee manual.  Quick, change the manual!  Whew! Solved.
  7. Let the new guy tell the press that the investigation has NOTHING TO DO WITH THE CHIEFS.
  8. Get caught changing the manual after the fact.  Go on the radio and call it a "coincidence".
  9. In the radio interview, state on the record that the reason the Chief's were placed on leave is because of their EEOC complaints.  That should look good when I get sued!!
  10. Now that the targets are on leave, time to drum up some charges.  Get Sisson to do it!
  11. Oh crap!  Administrative leave is limited to 10 days in the employee manual.  Got it, just ignore the manual and say THIS part of the manual DOESN'T apply, but other parts that I choose DO apply.
  12. Sisson files his charges.  But hey, the major charge is a Battalion Chief's responsibility.  Should we put him on leave since its his responsibility.  Na...just the Chief's.
  13. Did Sisson really accuse a Chief of accepting a unrequested complimentary rental car upgrade? The Mayor reimbursed a coach class ticket for PRIVATE JET TRIPS TO THE MASTERS, but a Fire Chief is charged with accepting an unrequested complimentary rental car upgrade.  That one MAY be weak Ed!
  14. On no, we haven't got anything.  We need a delay to drum up some new charges. Keep putting the Chief's out on 10 day leaves.  6 times and counting!
  15. Quick, investigate the child car seat program.  It has cash!!
  16. Dang, that program is administered by the Acting Interim Chief.  Should we put him on leave? Na...then we would have to appoint another Battalion Chief as Acting Acting Interim Chief and he is black and we can't have that.
  17. We will just let the person responsible for the program we are investigating sit in the same room with the cash that we are investigating whether was properly accounted for.  Yep!
  18. Better make sure the Mayor's puppet master is up to speed on the railroad job.  Let him go talk to the "Independent Investigator" over at the Mayor's criminal defense lawyers office.
to be continued...

Eric Olson could mess up a bad dream!

Whew! This has got to be as bad as it gets. Talk about total government waste and complete disregard for justice and integrity. This administration has reached an all-time low and I doubt there's anything that can be done at this point to fix this mess.

Yes, this is good reason for public outrage. Olson along with whoever else is involved should turn in their resignations immediately. If this is allowed to go where it seems to be heading, the mayor should definitely be recalled.

I had to literally read this several times because I couldn't believe what I was reading. I knew that there were crooked people at city hall but this shows a level of deceit and malice that I could have never imagined. Anyone who still trusts the Hayward administration to do the right thing seriously needs their head examined.

If they have done half of what's being said, someone should go to jail. There has to be some recourse for the attacks that you have described. I'm furious thinking about the taxpayers money spent on this witch hunt. SHAME ON YOU ASHTON HAYWARD for allowing something of this magnitude occur with you in charge. This is an absolute outrage and a downright embarrassment to Pensacola. Time to take out the TRASH!!!

Just remember, the citizens of Pensacola both literally and figuratively will pay for this illegal, immoral and unethical behavior. How's that new charter and all that "change" working out for you? To bad it's progressed from change to some serious fold'n money. How much will the boy blunder and bumbling Olson and their outside attorneys cost you? Oh, by the way, the city just got summary judgement against them on the Fish House law suit. Not even enough of an issue to send before a jury. The citizens get to pay their loser attorney and the winner Ed Fleming. Can't wait to hear the judgement you all get to pay for damages. Millions? But hey, your mayor looks great in pictures with the governor. In the county. Ha. Can't make this incompetence up. Hey. By the way, you pay little Ashy $100k a year and Olson even more.

Ashton doesn't just allow this to happen, he promotes it! And don't forget that they wouldn't even give the Chiefs a ride back to their cars.

Perfect case for consolidating the city and the county.

Sorry embarrassing and so sad. The city is a joke and sadly the representatives don't care.

Our stuffed, empty shirted mayor can't be found to comment on any of a litany of embarrassing issues, included getting his A** handed to him by Ed Fleming yet again, but he sure did make the PNJ photo op at Veterans Park. He turned over a shovel of dirt - most work he's done in years!!' And by the way Ash, love the suit. Spiffy tie, pocket square combo.

Don't forget to add racist jokes and back action stairwell meetings at City Hall between Olson, Sisson, and Hayward. No security cameras in stairwell.

The only way to describe these events is downright evil. Anyone who would participate in what's been stated above is plain wicked. There's no way around it.

This is going to cost the city millions! So tired of the Wells, Olson, Sisson, and Hayward clown show.

This all goes to show just how far Hayward and his hired henchmen will go. I'm honestly surprised that it's taken this long for others to discover the types of low life scum bags there are running the city. Sooner or later they're gonna mess with the wrong person and I for one can't wait for Karma to come knockin on they're door.

Very disturbing to consider all of the resources (at taxpayer's expense) being expended on an ill-fated witch hunt. The way that this has all been carried out is completely ridiculous and truly exposed how the city lacks leadership from the top. This charter has failed miserably and two terms with Hayward as mayor has demonstrated how bad it can get. The only thing transparent about this administration is its corruption. I've got a new brand for Pensacola and it won't even cost $1 million like the Zimmerman rip-off.

WELCOME TO PENSACOLA--THE DARK SIDE OF FLORIDA WHERE TRANSPARENCY IS ALWAYS MURKY!!!

The attorneys representing the chiefs must be salivating over this. There is no reasonable justification for how these men have been treated. Way to go Hayward!

Shameful juvenile behavior from the Mayor's leadership team. If I recall correctly restoring trust was a major emphasis of this administration. Well, that has obviously been destroyed.
